Welcome to Sorensen Equipment!

Sorensen Equipment Company was started in 1977 by Roger & Bev Sorensen, originally selling Ford Tractors and parts. Today both Roger and Bev are still active in the dealership, running it with two of their sons, Corey and Barry. At the time the dealership opened in 1977 there were six farm equipment dealerships in Harlan, IA. There is only one of those dealerships remaining today – “Sorensen Equipment”.

Throughout the course of time and never ending changes in the ag industry, Sorensen Equipment has seen many things change. Sorensen Equipment started originally as a Ford Tractor dealer, that presented some changes/challenges in itself through the years with the merger of Ford and New Holland, followed later by the merger of Case New Holland (CNH). Along with the tractors Sorensen’s has been a dealer for several short line equipment manufacturers as well.

In 1982 Roger sold his first piece of Kinze Equipment, it was a 400 Grain Cart. As time progressed Kinze sales were increasing. Roger liked the way Kinze did business and also had a great appreciation for John Kinzenbaw’s moral and ethical values. That relationship continued to grow and is still growing today. Kinze soon became Sorensen’s top selling brand.

By the time 2012 rolled around the volume of the Kinze business had grown to a point where it accounted for such a large percentage of Sorensen’s total business that Sorensen’s made the hard decision to part ways with CNH. Although there have been some challenges along the way, the decision has proven to be positive allowing Sorensen to make Kinze Sales, Parts, and Service their primary focus. Sorensen’s also sells and services several other short line equipment manufacturers as well, including: Brandt, Horsch, and J&M, just to name a few.

Sorensen Equipment prides itself in service after the sale. Sorensen’s maintain a huge Kinze parts inventory. Customer focus is at forefront of priorities. The Sorensen Family truly believes that faith, family, hard work and honesty are all huge keys in the success of their business as well as the success of their customers.
